St. George's Hospital

Robertson North East delivered the £27million psychiatric hospital on behalf of the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust.

The hospital was officially opened by the Duchess of Northumberland in November 2006 following a 94 week construction programme.

The new 201 bed health care facility features adult admission, treatment and recovery wards, as well as a specialist mother and baby unit, inpatient wards and a day hospital for elderly patients.

Every effort was made in the design and build process to ensure an atmosphere that promotes a feeling of comfort, privacy, security and self-esteem in patients.

Extensive landscaping was also carried-out to provide a pleasing environment for long-term patients.
