Robertson North East carried out the design and build contract on the facility which forms a central part of the local community. Robertson Capital Projects acted as majority investor and Robertson Facilities Management will provide a range of services throughout the project duration.

The LIFT model offers the opportunity to integrate user and FM issues into the building design and this was embraced by all partners to ensure that the building complied with the client brief.
The inclusive process ensured that Shiremoor has an efficient building layout and flexible space. This is demonstrated around the central core which enables users to easily access any of the services with additional features to assist people with varying disabilities.
Land on the existing site has also been used to develop a library, a council cash office and an IT facility.
