Robertson Highland were appointed to design a new community hospital to replace the existing Migdale Hospital in Bonar Bridge which is no longer fit for purpose.
The proposed scheme aims to achieve improvements in the effectiveness of clinical services by providing a flexible, responsive and efficient facility to meet local, regional and national imperatives.
This project involved the development of four separate buildings – a three-storey health centre, two-storey day-care hospital, two-storey mental health facility and a dedicated building for Robertson Facilities Management.
Robertson Capital Projects is the private sector partner on this major Initiative. The project places significant emphasis on partnership working, including the formation of a "LIFT" Company board to manage the company, and a Strategic Partnering Board to review and approve future phases. 9 multi-use buildings have been procured to date, with a further pipeline in the programme.
Robertson Highland has constructed a new state-of-the-art oncology unit for NHS Highland at Raigmore, which will bring great benefits to cancer patients throughout the Highlands and Islands. The first Linear Accelerator machine supplied as part of this project is now installed and operational.
Whitehills Health and Community Care Centre is a community hospital and resource centre developed to allow privacy, dignity, choice, equality, diversity and safety for patient groups in primary care. Extensive inpatient and outpatient clinical accommodation with combined private treatment and consultation areas are provided.
This project involves the replacement of the Victorian St George’s Hospital in Morpeth with a purpose-built mental health hospital within the grounds of the existing mature site environment.
New Craigs (Craig Phadrig) was Scotland’s first mental health hospital delivered under PPP. The project was seen as an exemplar throughout the UK and in recognition won a prestigious UK PFI of the Year Healthcare Award in 2000. This single storey development includes eleven separate buildings with single bed accommodation throughout.
This development will deliver a high quality care facility with a range of clinical and non clinical support accommodation. The design provides extensive inpatient facilities, including a twenty four bed Psychogeriatric Admissions and Assessment unit; twenty four bed Psychogeriatric Continuing Care unit; and a forty bed Elderly Care unit (twenty to care commission standards).
